King Crimson - The Sheltering Sky

King Crimson have gone through too many line-up changes to enumerate here, but the early eighties version that debuted with the album Discipline remains one of its most potent. The long instrumental The Sheltering Sky eschews the Gamelan rock of the rest of the album, and pours forth a flowing and inspired lyricism.

One of Fripp's best instrumental creations.
